DONEWELL® DGT-212 high-temperature automotive silicone sealant for forming and repairing gaskets in vehicle components such as engine and transmission oil pans, thermostat and water pump housings, and others. It can replace paper, rubber, metal and other gaskets.
Contains no solvents or acids, does not cause corrosion and can be used to seal electrical connections and sensors.
Resistant to automotive fluids (except gasoline). Thixotropic: does not run or sag along the joint.
Fills cavities and gaps up to 7 mm. The cured sealant can be used in the temperature range from −50°C to +330°C (intermittent).
Enough for 2.5–3 linear meters at a bead diameter of 4 mm.
Application
- Apply the sealant to clean, dry, degreased surfaces at +5°C to +40°C; the sealant temperature should be +20°C to +25°C. Apply a continuous, uniform bead 2–3 mm thick to one of the surfaces.
- Skin-over time: 10–15 minutes; full cure time for a gasket up to 3 mm thick: 24 hours (at +23°C and 50% relative humidity).
- No additional bolt retightening is required after the sealant has cured.
- Use a solvent to clean tools and surfaces soiled with fresh sealant; remove cured sealant mechanically.
To remove old sealant residue, we recommend KR-969 Gasket and Sealant Remover. For degreasing and cleaning, use KR-965 Brake Cleaner.
